I was contemplating how horrid, how terrible, the pain and humiliation must have been for Jesus. Yet as He hung on the cross He prayed "Forgive THEM Father ..." And we ARE forgiven ... I AM forgiven. Thanks be to God.
Reading your sermon made me think about Uzza who died when touching the ark of God and then about all who mishandled Jesus, all of which could have met the same end.
Paragraph 2 you wrote “Jesus asks the disciples to pray with Him, but they sleep while His agony begins.” That didn’t seem quite accurate as the Lord admonished them to pray the 1st time he checked on them, for what he asked of them was to keep watch. What you wrote is true inasmuch as they did sleep while He prayed, but he admonished them after finding them not doing what he asked them to do: keep watch. I’d humbly propose you change “to pray” to “to keep watch.”
Matthew 26:38 “Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” And Matthew 26:40-41 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Beautiful. Thank you.
The Lion versus the Sacrificial Lamb, both mighty to save, just in different yet beautiful ways.
