1/ Paul to the Pastor’s being ordained at Miletus, the blood of God (Acts 20:28)
Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock,
among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers,
to shepherd the church of God which He purchased
with His own blood.
2/ Disorder → Power → Will → Desire
We spent the morning talking with Gene Veith, which was great.
(I noticed this in the picture:)
Anyhow, this Shakespeare quotation provides the outline for the book:
To understand this: “degree” is understood as order, and when order is removed, then power comes in to fill the void, and
There were a lot of phenomenal insights, but I’m especially thinking about this series of insights, paraphrased:
1/ In the enlightenment science rose as the sole source of truth.
2/ Scientific truth involves only brute facts, which
3/ excludes meaning, value, aesthetics, identity, religion, purpose, etc.
4/ Therefore, everything said about the above topics (meaning, purpose, identity, etc.) is not TRUE in any objective way, only subjective.
3/ Is humanity the problem?
On yesterday’s edition of The Briefing Dr Mohler discussed Malthusianism, the idea that humanity is a dangerous virus. It’s good to have this ideology on the radar.
4/ What-Not, the Podcast
We’ve recorded a few episodes in the last couple of days. Give it a listen, and subscribe on your favorite podcast app. And, if you can, rate and review the podcast. That will help other people find it.

Here’s the last three episodes:
S3E03 If the scriptures are sufficient why do we need the small catechism?
S3E02 reflections on the simul, cheap Grace and progressive sanctification
It’s doubtful, but I might even get an episode out tonight.

Re: Malthusianism and the idea of humans being the problem - isn't fallen humanity a problem? Before the Fall, humans were given the command to fill the earth and have dominion over it, but sin has tainted humans so that dominion is used destructively rather than to protect and support. I see the problem with using the "population control" mindset to paint abortion as a public good, but to paint sinful humans as never having a negative impact on the world God has given us is disingenuous.
