What-Not Movin' Around
June 5, 2021: movin' around, Jesus the Plunderer, how the apostles died info graphic, more Ralph Stanley, the Judges as anti-feasters!, some Law /Gospel and Luther Easter podcasts, and a bunch more...
1/ Jesus the Plunderer! (Mark 3:27)
But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.
This one might need a little explanation… Okay, I made you guys a video:
2/ Congrats to Erich!
If you’re named Erich, check your email. You might have won this month’s free book or your choice. (The rest of you guys have to wait until next month, or go shopping.)
3/ What-Not Migration
For the past few years, I’ve used Mailchimp to send out this newsletter. I’m going to try using something different. Today’s edition is coming to you via Substack. (This should (1) make things easier to edit, (2) save a bunch of money, and (3) make the archives easier to search and explore.) I’m hoping these changes will make it a bit easier for me to be more consistent. We’ll see!
If you have any troubles, or notice anything better or worse about the Wednesday What-Not, please let me know.
AND! you can comment and have some conversation below!
AND AND you should be able to share this pretty easy. (I’m not on the social medias any more, so I’ve forgotten how that works, but I’m sure you can find someone to help you!)
4/ How the Apostles Died.
There are some wild images over there at ChristianPhotoshops.com.
5/ I’ll Fly Away
More Ralph Stanley.
6/ Luther’s Easter Sermon on Reformed Thoughts
We got another Luther Sermon onto the Reformed Thoughts podcast. You can hear it here:
7/ Radio Evanguard’s Podcast
Flamme and Ross talking about Law and Gospel in the home.
8/ The Book of Judges as Anti-Feasts
This is an interesting article proposing that the book of Judges is structured as a series of anti-feasts.
This was sent to me after our Worldwide Bible Study a few weeks ago, where we started with a discussion of the feasts of Israel. (Feast study starts around 6:45.)
9/ More spaces at the Issues, Etc. conference
This will be a lot of fun. “Making the Case” is an opportunity for you to meet and hear: Mark and Mollie Hemingway, Dr. Robert George, Jack Phillips, Dr. Larry Rast, Pastor Will Weedon, and me.
10/ And, speaking of Issues, Etc.,
I interviewed Jeff Schwarz last week
Remember to go to your pastor's Bible Class this week and, read old theology books. (If you don't have a pastor or congregation, click here. If you don't have old theology books, click here.)
