1/ Mercy (Psalm 57:1)
Mercy. Steadfast love. Lovingkindness. David, hiding in the cave, struggles to contain his awe and joy in the Lord’s goodness. Why? Because the Lord is not simply good in Himself. He is good for us! His goodness is our salvation. His mercy is our hope. His love is our deliverance. His wings are our hiding place. His kindness is our life. His power is our defense. His wisdom is our faith. His glory is our longing. His Word is our treasure. His steadfastness is our confidence. His Name is our prayer. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You. Amen.
2/ With a Prayer for Mercy
The Lord’s people are always praying for peace, especially now against the darkness and violence in Israel and Gaza: Lord, have mercy!
3/ Introducing: The Wiseberg Academy
One of the highlights of my recent trip to Australia was meeting Pastor Guntars Baikovs, a pastor, author, scholar, arm-wrestling champion, and creator of the Wiseberg Academy, an on-line learning platform for Christian Wisdom.
Introducing: The Wiseberg Academy!
From the website: The Wiseberg Academy is a school of Christian wisdom, created with someone just like you in mind. We hope to be able to bless you with God’s wisdom, helping you to flourish in all the aspects of your life.
There are a number of classes in the works. The Wisdom 4 Relationships course is ready. I’m 11% complete, and really enjoying it.
These classes are all free to explore, and to take individually, as a couple or family, or a congregation. You can also pay to enroll, or support this effort.
I would encourage you all to sign-up and look around. If you have any questions, I know Pr Baikovs will be excited to help you. If there is a course you would like to see, please let him know.
Here’s session one of the Wisdom 4 Relationships course:
I hope you enjoy.
4/ Lord, Teach Us to Pray
We started a series on Issues, Etc. this week about the Lord’s Prayer, and Luther’s explanation. Here’s the first episode.
Remember, we published Luther’s explanation of the Lord’s Prayer with video footnotes on every page. Order your copies here: www.wolfmueller.co/pray.
5/ QnA: Women’s Ordination, every Christian a Theologian, etc.
Pr Packer and I got back to some of your questions this week.
6/ Wokism: A Philosophy or a Movement? by Dr Francisco.
I’m watching this now.
Please add your own theological recommendations in the comments.
If you are new here, visit the archives for a ton of stuff. (You can even search for your favorite topics.)
Remember to go to your pastor's Bible Class this week and, read old theology books. (If you don't have a pastor or congregation, click here. If you don't have old theology books, click here.)
If you find this helpful, forward it to a friend. If this was forwarded to you, click here to sign-up for yourself.
Thank you, again, for your time and attention, and for your prayers. Please keep in touch.

Pastor W have received your pray book. Gave one to my son. His family is having a difficult time. He said that both he and his wife found it beneficial. The right thing at the right time. I cannot thank you enough for this blessing. Matthew

Just catching up on this now, but it's so funny the title spoke to me all week. I think as we live in a world that continually praises how much we know, we have so few reminding us that wisdom is far greater. If Eve had asked God for wisdom, rather than given into her desire for more knowledge...
I'm looking forward to your Issues, etc. series. I've been listening to a lot of John Bergsma lately, and I'd highly recommend his interview on the "Pints with Aquinas" podcast and his talk about Moses authoring the Pentateuch on the Classical Theism podcast. I am not Catholic, but these have been awesome talks.
