Friends,
I don’t know a better explanation of prayer than Martin Luther’s commentary on the Lord’s Prayer from the Large Catechism. It’s wonderful. We published it as a little stand-alone book (which you can download for free here). All good.
BUT, I’ve been trying to figure out how to add commentary to the text, and especially how to add video commentary. (Most new media is audion/video supported by text, but I want to flip that around. Text supported by video.) So I cooked up the idea of the video footnote.
Each page of the text will have a video commentary, linked by QR code to a Grappling-with-the-text style video.
Before I get too far into the project, I need to make sure it works.
Here’s where you can help:
Please download these three DRAFT PDF pages.
Click the QR codes, print the pages out, and scan them with your phone.
Test it out and see if it works, and if it’s helpful.
Please let me know in the comments below what works and what doesn’t. What’s good and what’s problematic. Your feedback will be invaluable.
Does it work?
I’m hoping that my Lenten devotion this year will be recording one commentary video a day, and we should be able to publish the text soon after Easter.
Thank you for your help! Christ is Risen!

Additionally, linking directly to YT allows 'landscape' mode on my mobile whereas the webpage link video seems to be locked into portrait viewing only ;-)
Hi! It works for me all right in my browser. No phone needed.
