3/ Theological Vacations
I like to wander around a bit in the summer. It is nice, in our wanderings, to jump into something edifying for our faith. Here are some of the opportunities I know about to make this a theological summer vacation. (If you have more suggestions, please add them in the comments.)
Digital Catacombs (Denver, CO, June 7-9)
This important conference discusses the intersection of technology, cyber-security, and the Gospel. If you are at all interested in these topics, I would encourage you to attend. I went last year, and it was very helpful. Click here to see the speakers and schedule, and all the info.
Issues, Etc. Conference (Chicago, IL, June 16-17)
This is the standard-bearer for Lutheran Theological Conferences. I won’t be there this year, but the lineup looks great. Click here for more info.
Christ the King Apologetics (Spencer, IA, July 7-8)
I’ll give six lectures for this apologetics conference in Spencer, IA. This will be a lot of fun: Competing Stories, God and the World. Click here for more info.
Praying the Psalms with Christ and His Church, Continuing Ed Seminar (Austin, TX, July 13-15)
Pastor Boyle from Ft. Wayne will join us for three days to teach the Psalms and prayer. This class is geared for pastors, but everyone is encouraged to attend. Click here for more info. (And, if you’d like to se if the seminary has classes in your area this summer, click here. But, you should really consider coming to Austin. Ours is the best.)
Beyond Reasonable Doubt. Higher Things (San Antonio, TX, July 25-28)
Apologetic is the theme for this summers Higher Things retreats for youth. I’ll be teaching and presenting at the San Antonio retreat. Click here for more info.
Free to Die: A Doxology Seminar (Davenport, IA, August 12)
I’ll be back in Iowa in August with two presentations on how the martyrs offer us hope. Pr David Flemming with teach about the Christian Conscience. This will be fun. More info here. We’ll have a mini-conference for pastors the day before, discussing Luther’s Theology of Martyrdom.
Speak Lord Conferences (Hamilton and Adelaide, Australia, September 23-24 & 30-31)
This doesn’t count as summer, but if you are an Australian Wednesday What-Not-er, I hope to be able to meet you in Hamilton or Adelaide this September. More information coming soon.
4/ Comfort for those tending the Lord’s Littlest Lambs
Keri wrote this great series of three articles to encourage families with young children navigate the joys and difficulties of bringing them to church. Please share this with any young families who need the encouragement.

5/ Wordsworth, if you missed it
I published the four-volume set of Christopher Wordsworth New Testament Commentary. As always, you can download these for free.

6/ On Becoming Lutheran
Here was a fun and wide-ranging interview with Pr Chad Bresson, Lutheran from a Reformed/Evangelical background.
7/ On Ascension
You all know I’m trying to make Ascension Great again. Here’s the latest effort.
8/ Heads Up
Things might look a little different around here for the next few weeks. It’s a nutty summer, starting with a trip to Germany, and then bouncing around. We’ll try to keep you up to date.

Pastor Wolfmueller, thank you again for a great resource from Keri for moms but also for all those in the pews of the church so we might be reminded how to show understanding and support for parents of God’s children! I am going to share this with several pastors at the churches in my state as well as with some of the moms I know who will feel so relieved to hear these guiding words. 🙏🏻
Pr. Wolfmueller, thanks for all you do. Not sure if you ever sleep.
I love Keri's articles about bringing children to church. I wonder if she has put together (or if you are aware of) a similar encouragement for parents to bring their children to Sunday School.
Thanks in advance!
Pr. Longman
