1/ Jesus rejoices in the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:21)
In that same hour [Jesus] rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said…
2/ the What-Not of Helpfulness
I want to keep the What-Not helpful, so, could you answer: What have been the most helpful links and resources for you and your family from the Wednesday What-Not?
(You can comment below, or reply to this email.)
3/ Poncho and Lefty
It’s been a while since I posted this song.
“The dust that Ponch bit down south ended up in Lefty’s mouth.”
4/ T. S. Eliot, The Rock
I should probably include something more than YouTube videos. I am really enjoying J. Budziszewski’s The Revenge of Conscience. (You can read a nice article with the same title here.)
Discussing how the consequences of breaking natural law are diminished, Budziszewski writes,
The second diminisher comes from us: “Dreaming of systems so perfect that no one will need to be good,” we exert our ingenuity to escape from the natural consequences of breaking natural law. (p. 36)
Through the magic of the internet, I tracked the line he quoted to T. S. Eliot’s poem/play The Rock, a chorus sung while monks are killed by Danes.
Why should men love the Church? Why should they love her laws?
She tells them of Life and Death, and of all that they would forget.
She is tender where they would be hard, and hard where they like to be soft.
She tells them of Evil and Sin, and other unpleasant facts.
They constantly try to escape
From the darkness outsinde and within
By dreaming of systems so perfect that no one will need to be good.
But the man that is will shadow
The man that pretends to be.
5/ Pietsch Lectures
I’ve saved four YouTube videos to “watch later.” I think you’ll find them interesting and helpful, but, be warned, I haven’t watched them yet.
Here are the first three:
1. “Luther and the Care of Souls”
2. "The Gospel as External Word and Personal Experience"
3. “Luther’s Counsel to a Depressed Young Man”
6/ Seven Lies Your Kid’s will believe unless you do something
And the fourth that I have not watched, but I looked at the list of lies, and this looks good as well.
7/ Critical Race Theory
This, also, is on my “need to listen to” list:
8/ The Spirit of JOY and ORDER
We had a good time studying how the Holy Spirit gives joy and works through office and vocation in today’s Worldwide Bible Class.
Join us live next week.
Remember to go to your pastor's Bible Class this week and, read old theology books. (If you don't have a pastor or congregation, click here. If you don't have old theology books, click here.)
If you find this helpful, forward it to a friend. If this was forwarded to you, click here to sign-up for yourself.
Thank you, again, for your time and attention, and for your prayers. Please keep in touch.
Lord's Blessings, Pastor Wolfmueller

I like when you list the podcast/youtubes/blogs at the end of the "weekly" newsletter. Helps me to be updated. And also this new feature: "What I want to watch". Lutheran Study days is a great resource.
-Grateful
Of course still enjoying Round the Word journal every week
