1/ Rejoicing for what?! (Acts 5:41)
Then they left the presence of the council,
rejoicing that they were
counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.
2/ Thank you for the thoughtful Affirmative Action replies
Your conversation is extremely helpful to me.
If you missed the last video post, I’ve been chatting with a number of accounts on Twitter that claim to be Lutheran White Nationalists. I think, now, the critical questions I’m working on are:
“How does the Bible teach us to confess ethnos? How does that compare/contrast to how the world would have us think of race?”
There will be a lot of fruit to harvest in this conversation.
I also couldn’t help think about those who would want us to take pride in our race when reading last Sunday’s epistle:
…you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers…
…you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God… (1 Peter 1:18, 23).
3/ Easter Chronology
The events after the Resurrection are wild, and at first glance, the Gospels don’t look like they can fit together. How did the women see the angles, but Mary did not? Here is a very helpful reconstruction of the events: https://answering-islam.org/Andy/Resurrection/harmony.html
Here’s the chart I put together.
4/ King of Kings: Two Ways
Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Here are two implications:
The kings of this earth have a king over them. It is one of the dangers of secular thought that there is no one in heaven, no one sitting on the greater throne. Jesus promise to be the King of kings means that the kings of this earth still have Someone ruling over them. He is the Judge of judges, the Boss of bosses, the Ruler of rulers, and this authority keeps earthly power in check.
But, more, Jesus will be King of kings in the resurrection. His Kingdom is not a Kingdom of citizens but of kings. This means that all the Lord’s people are kings. He is not Lord of servants, but Lord of lords. In eternal life we, all Christians, are exalted to be lords, living free.
5/ Ethical Conceit
Here’s an interesting and helpful article from Doug Wilson on the topic of Ethical Conceit. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this.
6/ Fourteen Theses on Mankind
Pr Flamme brought some helpful clarity to the race question with his fourteen Theses on Mankind.
Thesis XIII is the key:
XIII. The characteristics of men, such as language, color, manners, etc., belonging to groups sharing a common culture and ancestry are accidental and not essential to their persons or their humanity.
He expounds and defends that thesis here.
7/ People, Tribe, Tongue, Nation
In the Revelation, John is given to describe the multitude gathered around the Throne of the Slain Lamb with four words: tribe (φυλή), tongue (γλῶσσα), people (λαός), and nation (ἔθνος). This list shows up five times in Revelation (5:9, 7:9, 11:9, 13:7, and 19:6). Here’s the surprise: each time in a different order.
Why? What does this mean?
I don’t know. I’d love to hear your thoughts and guesses.
8/ Luther’s Master Class on How to Read the Bible
Here’s the video of today’s Worldwide Bible Class, Luther teaching on Genesis 30:1-2.
Here’s the link to the Spiritual Eyes article mentioned in the study.
9/ Luther on Body, Soul, Spirit
10/ The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament
I’m getting ready for Q and A on Issues, and one of the questions has to do with the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. Here is the outline and list of passages I found.
That should be enough to make up for two weeks off.

While I do believe that racism is evil, I'm more concerned that it took one of those white nationalists to point out the problems in the new Large Catechism with annotations, & that 23 pastors and professors signed off on everything being ok in it. More concerning is the reaction and outright lies made by the upper brass of the LCMS & CPH when this problems were pointed out. And it wasn't just 1 or 2 racists that pointed it out. There are LCMS pastors voicing the same concern. I bought a copy myself to see it with my own eyes & some of the issues that were pointed out, I have the same concerns (but not all of them).
I am also concerned why the LCMS /CPH (claiming to be conservative) would bring in ELCA & NACL people for this project, especially one of them who says "Jesus committed sin"! Do we not have enough of our own pastors & seminary professors for this job? If not, why didn't we contact WELS or ELS pastors & professors? We have more in common with them than ELCA & NALC.
Also, I am very concerned why Pres. Harrison gives this big announcement about rooting out white nationalists from the LCMS, of which to date, 1 person has been excommunicated from his church. Yet Pres. Harrison does absolutely nothing about an LCMS pastor being publicly pro-choice who said that with Roe v Wade being rescinded it was "a step backwards for our country". How is this pastor still being allowed to be an LCMS pastor?
Or how about the LCMS pastor in Colorado who shielded a man who worked at that church & church school after he raped a young girl that attended both?!? Instead of protecting one of his flock from a wolf amongst them, this pastor actually attacked the child and her family! Saying that she was lying and making it up. He ostersized the girl and her family! It wasn't until the police investigated it and arrested the guy that the church finally fired him. Oh, and the monster fled to TX but was arrested & extradited back to CO for trial. How is this pastor still there?
These are much bigger concerns to me than a couple white guys who unfortunately have a bad understanding of race and being a Christian. As it says in Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus".
AMEN! 🙏🏻
I think the white nationalist comes from folks being persecuted or exempted from our current government, business, and societal groups. Being put down and marginalized as a group, in a country and religion that tried its best to see everyone as a citizen or brother. The pagans are taking control. I see myself wanting descendants of European heritage to man up and push back so as to avoid the situation from getting worse. However, I leave most of the how up to the Lord.
